Everything You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need to remove my wisdom teeth?
Not always. If they are fully erupted, healthy, properly positioned, and easy to clean, they may be kept. Most impacted or problematic ones require removal.
At what age should wisdom teeth be removed?
Ideally between ages 16 and 22, when roots are less developed and healing is faster. However, safe extraction is possible at any age.
Is wisdom tooth extraction painful?
The procedure itself is not painful due to anesthesia. Some soreness and swelling are normal for 3–7 days after surgery, managed with medication.
How long does recovery take?
Most people return to work or school within 2–3 days. Full healing of the extraction site takes 4–6 weeks, but discomfort resolves much sooner.
What are signs of impacted wisdom teeth?
Pain, swelling, gum infection, bad breath, difficulty opening mouth, or damage to nearby teeth. Some impacted teeth cause no symptoms initially.
